Common Phrase

10 weeks of common phrase in artillery school is mental and physical challenge phrase. The culture and style of the school is stricter than in OCS, maybe due to handling with big weapons. Or maybe that we are the 'superstars' in the unit and everyone is looking at us with the 3 white cadet stripes. Confinement is a painful punishment for all of us since the unit works only 5 days. Getting a confinement would mean burning both Saturday and Sunday. Confinees have to report to duty room every 2 hours or so to the duty officer. Sad to say, I already served 3 weeks. Morale wise, it's super duper demoralising to be in. Why? The time schedule was so packed and there always changes to the schedule. Instructors like to demoralise with OUT OF COURSE if u fail twice in the exam. SOC ground changes alot of time from Nee Soon Camp, Debbe Barrack to Khatib Camp. Cadets like us have to quickly adjust to the terrain, obstacle courses and the route once and then take the test. Always hear from my sirs about that RED BUTTON press and that's when the so-called war comes. I wondered where is that RED BUTTON is? If I know, they have to kill me. Sigh... Life is no choice but to go on.
